Food is freakin’ amazing. And we love it (a lot).

Allow us to introduce ourselves: we are Tina and Chessa (that’s Chessa on the left and Tina on the right). We are two sisters who have very different takes on the world but share an appreciation for all things delicious.

Chessa is a school psychologist who loves to hike and excels at making lists, following instructions and always measures her ingredients.

Tina is…none of those things. A lawyer by training, Tina’s love language is food – preparing it for others, savoring it herself and reading about it when not doing the one or the other.  But she is your girl if you want to talk about how the Roman army marched on its (fish paste filled) stomach, or how celery was the avocado toast of the 19th century, and anything else obscure and esoteric.

Despite our differences, the kitchen is our safe space (despite the hazards of the many open cupboards when Tina is cooking, #ADHD). It is where each of us retreat when we need to mull a problem over, marinate in a feeling, or avoid either.

This blog is an exercise to share the things that nurture us, while winking at the things we should have been doing instead, because tomorrow is another day.

Mangiate!
